Cash Discount Program

The Cash Discount Program

Eliminate up to 100% of your card processing fees by offering a small discount to customers who pay cash. The register does the math, the receipt shows the line, and the fee stops coming out of your deposits.

Your Numbers

See The Fee Line Go To Zero.

Drag the slider to your monthly card volume. The blue line is what processing costs you today. On the cash discount program that line reads zero, because card payers pay the posted price and cash payers get a small discount at the register.

How It Works

One Posted Price, A Discount For Cash

Your prices are posted with the cost of accepting cards included. A customer who pays cash gets that amount taken off at the register. A customer who pays by card pays the posted price. A notice at the entrance and at the point of sale says the cash discount is available, and the receipt shows the discount line.

Your staff rings the sale the same way they always have. The terminal or POS applies the program automatically. We set it up with the signage and receipt wording it needs, walk through it with you before the first transaction, and review the first statement with you.

If you would rather keep one price for everyone and absorb the fee, we set the account up as standard processing. Your rate review shows both.

Done Right

What A Compliant Setup Includes

  1. 01

    Signage

A notice at the entrance and at the register that a cash discount is available. We supply it.

  2. 02

    Receipt Line

The discount, or the posted price, shows on every receipt so there is never a surprise.

  3. 03

    Debit Handling

How debit cards are treated is set on the account up front and explained on your quote.

  4. 04

    Processor Notice

Program setup is filed with the processor before it goes live, the way the card brands require.

  5. 05

    First Statement Review

We sit with the first month's statement and confirm the line reads the way the quote said it would.

Straight Answers

Questions Owners Ask First

Will my customers mind?
Most do not notice. The posted price is the price. Cash payers see a discount, which reads as a bonus. Owners tell us the questions stop within the first week.
Is this the same as a surcharge?
No. A surcharge adds a fee on top of the price for card payers and carries its own caps and rules. Cash discount posts one price and takes an amount off for cash. We set up the cash discount way and keep the signage and receipt right.
Which businesses fit?
Restaurants, retail, salons, service counters and any business with posted prices and a steady share of card payments. If you invoice instead of ringing sales, Biller Genie is the better fit.
Can I switch back?
Yes. The account can move to standard processing where you absorb the fee. Nothing about the POS or terminal changes.
