- How does the cash discount program work?
- Posted prices include the cost of accepting cards. Cash customers get a small discount at the register, card customers pay the posted price, and processing fees stop coming out of your deposits. Signage and the receipt line make it clear.
- Is it legal?
- Cash discounts are allowed under card brand rules when they are set up and disclosed properly: posted price, signage, receipt line, and the right handling of debit. That setup is the work we do, and we file what the processor requires before it goes live.
- What is the difference from a surcharge?
- A surcharge adds a fee on top of the price for card payers and has its own caps and state rules. Cash discount posts one price and takes an amount off for cash. We set up the cash discount way.
- Will my customers push back?
- Most do not notice. The price is the price. Owners tell us questions stop within the first week.
- What about debit cards?
- How debit is treated is set on your account up front and shown on your quote, so the first statement has no surprises.
- Do I have to change my POS?
- Not always. Many terminals and POS systems run the program natively. If yours cannot, we show you the one that fits and quote the switch.
- Is there a contract?
- There is a merchant agreement, like any processing account. We go through it with you before you sign, and the quote spells out terms first.
- What if I invoice instead of ringing sales?
- Biller Genie AR is built for that: invoices sent, reminded and collected automatically, synced to your accounting software.
- Who do I call when something breaks?
- Us. One New Jersey number, (877) 794-7339.
